Hail, full of grace

Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. ( Luke 1, 28 ). What a cry of joy in the middle of darkness, what a hope, what a love, what a faith! God sends His angel to a young girl solidary with her people ( Luke 1, 46-55). Mary is not only solidary but also the sign (Apoc. 12, 1-6) of the woman full of sun, full of grace, full of God and with the crown of the twelve tribes, people of the Lord. The seer of Apocalypse unites in one the mother of a man child and the church of God. Mary is the new Eva, is the biblical typology of an obedient people, making herself obedient: "Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it done to me according to thy word." She and the people of faith are one in the view of the Almighty. He chooses in her the virtues He wishes to find in each of His believers. The faith, with the risks to loose her life, killed by the stones of the jewish law ( Deuteronomy 22, 22-29). The hope, standing up by the cross (John 19, 25 Latin "Stabant"), waiting for God's mercy. The love, celebrating the magnificence and rejoicing of the well Beloved. When we read the steps of grace in Mary's life, as in a lot of saints's, we see our Lord falling in love with humanity. And a new people answering positively to Him through the total Amen given first by Her. She doesn't take away anything from us. To the contrary, she gives, as the church has to give today, all of herself, to Him and to humanity: Christ, the way, the truth, the life. God spoke with jews in their own culture, using their terms, their style. It is why we meet what we call typology: each person, in the Bible, is a type of persons, as Adam, as the blind, as the women of Old Testament... Mary is also a type. Through delicate allusions, she is compared with the most women: full of grace as Esther the queen, blessed among women as Judith, full of joy as the daughter of Sion in Isaiah. And part of the poors of the new God's people. She is the type of the church too. She is the first christian and The Mother of the Lord beloved by her son. Our meditation is only a touch, an approach of the reality of Lord's grace. The attempt was reaching you'll have a deep intuition about Mary's (and your) part in salvation.
